Dr. Maria Martinez-Poulin (@DrMariaMPoulin), Superintendent of Whittier City School District, a district comprised of 90% Latino students in Southern California, leverages her own personal story to lead her community with empathy and grace. Born in Mexico and growing up with limited financial resources, Dr. Martinez-Poulin credits her public education teachers with propelling her into opportunities in first becoming a para-professional, and then over time, working her way up to become a Superintendent of Schools. In this incredible podcast, Dr. Martinez-Poulin talks about equity, access, building community, reopening safely, and ultimately, investing in our children.
